Pet Sounds(March 2024)
Vinyl design
I always wanted to design a vinyl record, and this was the perfect opportunity.
I chose to redesign Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys.
My inspiration for this project stems from the band's iconic album covers, while always maintaining their distinctive essence.
Traditionally, The Beach Boys' covers depict the band members in beach, ocean, or surfboard settings, reflecting their musical style and recurring themes. My goal was to capture this essence and elevate it by blending classic elements with a personal and contemporary touch.
In designing this new cover, I aimed to preserve the sense of freedom and summer that their music evokes, integrating vibrant colors and details reminiscent of the 1960s retro aesthetic, but with a modern twist.
This way, I not only pay homage to the band and their legacy but also offer a fresh, updated vision that connects with new generations.
With this idea, I wanted to explore new directions and decided to merge three images related to the sea, such as fish and jellyfish. Using juxtaposition techniques and graphic elements, I created a cover that retains the group's characteristic surfer style but with an innovative touch that aligns more closely with their identity.
The colors and shapes were carefully selected to achieve this fresh aesthetic, coherent with their image. In this way, I preserved the essence of The Beach Boys while providing an updated vision that resonates with new generations.
